6 months ago when we threw our very first 80s vs. 90s party and back then, we had no idea how crazy that night was going to be. We almost hit capacity at Detroit bar and this time we are doing it all over again. Since so many of you asked us to bring FATLIP back we are doing this one just for you!! And just because we know how cheap you are, this time it’s free before 10pm and after that you pay ONLY $5 (WITH RSVP or Themed outfit).. yeah I can’t believe it either.

Last Friday we had the pleasure of throwing our good friend DJ G-MO’s birthday party at Detroit bar in Costa Mesa. What went down was a night of amazing music, good vibes and fun.There isn’t much more I can write about what went down that night except it was actually one of the most fun parties I have been to / thrown in a loooooong time. People took their pants off, danced like there was no tomorrow, and there was a ton of family and friends there.. it was a good night indeed. Even our friends from MUTE97 (THE PEAS) showed up..Check out the photos:

THE SHORTEST POST ON MAGIC

This last week was the official MAGIC / POOL / PROJECT tradeshow week in Las Vegas, NV and since its become a tradition for us to roll out every year. We had to make it to this one and we got to roll with a few friendly GOSTS (bad I know)
Since we only wanted to stop by MAGIC for one day to say hi to everyone and to watch our friend ANDREW from DIM MAK kill it at his event he was doing with CRSRVR at the world famous TABU. (My dumbass though the flyer had ORISUE on it and it caused a shit storm of confusion with us and the ORISUE dudes) We only stayed for one night so we wanted to make it count.
We all left bORANGE County on Monday, and thats when the fun started.
We all ended up meeting at GOST in santa ana:

After much deliberation on when we were going to leave and who’s car we were going to be driving, we ended up settling on rolling up in Nikki’s CR-V and as you can see, G-MO and I were excited to share the backseat together

We were all pretty hungry around 1pm so we made the mandatory stop off at JACK IN THE BOX…

After we all finished grubbing at BLAND IN THE BOX we still weren’t satisfied with the amount of junk we had put in our bodies before 3pm so we had to make the trip over to TARGET for more goodies… Of course now that G-MO has his own personal trainer, he suggested that we bought the 100 calorie packs of snacks, but that’s exactly what anyone with a vagina would pick so we promptly ignored his estrogen filled request.

(I asked Arlo to blindly point out the most pussy snacks on the shelf and some how he got it.. I guess I should have never doubted an X-GAMES gold winner..lol)

After making it out of Target with our vegas money still in our pockets (its much more difficult than it seems) we decided to stop for gas somewhere off the 15. I would name the city, but I had no clue where we were. What I did know is that it was a perfect time to show that town what hot dudes working out looked like.

(G-MO wanted to show Arlo how tough his push-ups were now that he had a personal trainer but there was no fooling Arlo. Picking what gas to put in the CR-V was much more interesting)

Before we knew it, we were IN VEGAS!! (yes I just saved you the paragraph describing what 5hours of desert looks like) and it was time to kick things into high gear.

Here’s where I speed things up a bit, We checked into our hotel, rested for a bit, and headed downstairs for one of the best dinners ive ever had in my life,

After dinner everything became a blur and it was time for us to go out… I can’t say that I remember much from that evening but somehow I managed to take a few pictures of our room.

(notice the Vegas essentials: Piss on the rug, a Naked dude in the bed, money mouthwash and condoms on the dresser, and a phone that looks like it was used to call for help)

The next morning we woke up and headed down to the MAGIC tradeshow to say hello to all of our friends in the biz and some new friends we made the night before. The MAGIC tradeshow was a little disappointing this year (refer to the LAST PHOTOS OF SHAME) there were some awesome brands but the good majority of the show was filled with junk.

After we cruised the show for a couple hours it was time to call it a day and head back to CALI..

All in all our Vegas trip was short sweet and full of adventure, I had the pleasure of eating one of the best meals of my life, seeing one of my friends absolutely destroy (in a good way) the dancefloor of TABU, hang with some good friends, and keep the vegas tradition alive. Major thanks to Arlo and Nikki for letting us take the CR-V and for taking care of the trip. It was one for the record books. Ill see you all in Vegas next season and maybe this time Ill remember the name of the town I decide to blow away with my gas station work out skills.

Our Summer parties have always been the place where all of the closest friends would come out and have a good time. This last one was one to remember but I must tell you that I really can’t remember most of it. All I know is that DAN OH absolutely killed it (As usual) and Carol got me a little TOO drunk off a ridiculous amount of “Da Chewl Hennessey.” Thank god I took these photos to remember the night.

Ever heard of C2C? Well in-case you haven’t they 4 TIME Team champs at world famous DMC.

As one half of the C2C team, Pfel & Atom have won the DMC world Team Championships a record breaking 4 times, an achievement matched by no other artist in the history of DMC. Their unique shows sees them remix classic tunes as varied as Pumpkin & HunnyBunny/Misirlou (THAT guitar track from the movie Pulp Fiction ) and Sure Shot (Beastie Boys) as well as creating their own compositions on the turntables.

Maybe one day Ill find 3 other Djs who are as good as me… probably not.

I don’t know if you all know this yet, but one of my favorite band / groups of all time has to be THE PRESETS. Say what you want about their style of music, but for some reason I can listen to them all day. What’s crazy is they actually play all their songs LIVE…none of this American Idol lip sync shit and no pre-recorded mixes that they just cue in with a couple turns of a knob. While I was at Coachella last weekend the two shows that were my favorite were: Morrissey, and the PRESETS .. yes I like them THAT much. So when G-MO asked me to cruise out to their show at the Glasshouse last monday that he just happened to be DJing at I gave him a solid HELL YESS!!!
The night opened up with G-MO and Paparazzi on the decks, then THE GOLDEN FILTER hit the stage for a live performance to get the crowd movin before THE PRESETS brought the roof down. Up until that night I had never heard about THE GOLDEN FILTER but Im glad they didnt suck live because now Im a huge fan of them too… In fact I bought their cd and I have been switching back and forth from THE PRESETS to THE GOLDEN FILTER all week long. This shit never gets old to me.

This was our first time attending a pre thanksgiving party in Costa Mesa.. and we were lucky enough to share it with our friends. The dudes from MUTE 97, BUSYWORK and DIRTY MONEY. I really dont have much to say other than it was really really fun! IF you didn’t make it out ..than you seriously missed out, Even if you couldn’t get in to any of the bars you could have still had almost as much fun OUTSIDE the bars .. and our new BUM friend Pat did exactly that.

CUT COPY @ glasshouse

Considering this was my first time watching Cut Copy live I didnt know what to expect when I walked into their show… Many times we hear of a big act showing up for a performance and all it turns out to be is a measly “Dj Set” well this time they didn’t let us down.

Thanks to GMO GMO GMO we got a photo pass into the event and got to take some super up close photos of their performance (maybe even too close), the show was super fun. Cut Copy played that night with GMO, HEARTBREAK and, THE PRESETS (another one of my favorites) and even though, I showed up 12 mins into their set and missed everyone elses performance it was still well worth it.

In case you dont know who CUT COPY is…. take a mixture of the lighter stuff of DAFT PUNK mix it with MODERN TALKING and ad some New Zealand vocals and you got it.

MAGIC day 3 (show coverage)

Our last set of the MAGIC photos ended with us spending our last day inside the show… Since EVERYONE was sooo afraid of anyone taking a photo of their booth I really couldn’t get many shots of the brands there.

So Ill just go ahead and put up one of my new favorite songs and the photos w/o too much commentation.

Either way I would like to thank everyone who reads this blog and everyone who helped make MAGIC an amazing time. Yeah I may be putting the final set of photos up a week late but nonetheless it was an amazing time.

MAGIC TRADESHOW coverage Day 1 (party)

Since this was our first OFFICIAL party at MAGIC we decided to give out REAL yes REAL money… and it was a huge hit.

We got asked by our friends at DIM MAK to be a part of their celebration at the REVOLUTION lounge at the mirage hotel and considering there were 10 other parties going on that night… our party was a success.

The beauty of throwing a party in vegas is, you get people who show up from all across the spectrum of fashion and our party was no different.

Since my host still hasn’t given me the details to log into our server… here is a recycled song that its perfect for 3 days of magic in vegas.
