Buffetlibre x Amnesty International = PEACE

PEACE, a unique initiative co-produced by Buffetlibre and Amnesty International Catalunya, is finally available, including more than 180 exclusive and unreleased songs by artists from more than 50 countries. The compilation is digitally available worldwide here ( http://www.buffetlibredjs.net/peace.html ) and can be downloaded after making a donation to Amnesty International Catalunya. The collected money will be used for AI’s investigation and action campaigns aimed at preventing cases of Human Rights abuses around the world.

Among the artists participating in this project there are acclaimed musicians and exciting up-and-coming talents from countries such as USA, England, France, Spain, China, Mali, Japan, Venezuela, Cuba, Israel, New Zealand, Tibet, Palestine, Turkey or Thailand. PEACE line up includes Ryuichi Sakamoto, Marc Almond, Patrick Wolf, 4hero, Dubstar, Tahiti 80, Dan Deacon, Micah P Hinson, Steve Wynn, The Antlers, Mogwai, Mexican Institute Of Sound, A Place To Bury Strangers, The Toxic Avenger, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Stereo Total, Vive La Fète and Bart Davenport, to name only a few. Complete list of artists involved is available in PEACE website.

All the songs included in PEACE are available for streaming at http://www.buffetlibredjs.net/peace.html as well as information on all artists participating in the project. The full compilation, downloadable through a donation to Amnesty International Catalunya, includes all the songs in 320Kbps mp3 format.

Up until 2 days ago, my hand would have stayed down and a look of confusion would have been on my face, but the moment I downloaded the new album, I found a new favorite.Take heavy Dubstep and run it through the minds of The Glitch Mob RJD2, and M.F. Doom and you will have something very similar to the sound of PRETTY LIGHTS.

“In more than one way, this EP is a reflection of the massive changes I’m going through in my life and recent decisions I’ve had to make regarding my relationships, my career, and my music. Sometimes even the “coolest kids” aren’t too cool to give out FREE music and that’s exactly what THE COOL KIDS did with their Gone Fishin’ mixtape
If you have been following the COOL KIDS for awhile, like we have been, you know that these guys have been pumpin out solid gold hits quite some time now. The good and bad thing about the Cool Kids is that their music wasn’t always the easiest to obtain. Unless you knew some kids who got leaked copies of their tracks or you were scouring the music blogs their songs were always hard to find. Recently they have been getting some serious recognition with 3 albums of their albums on iTunes and one track on Mountain Dew’s Green Label Sound label. These guys just keep getting bigger and bigger. But lucky for us .. giving out free shit is now officially the COOL thing to do in 2009.

In keeping with whats COOL these kids have decided to release a full blown mixtape on their myspace and on their blog. This isn’t some 4 song teaser mixtape of whats coming out, its literally 21 songs of smooth beats and even smoother rapping.

I know that everyone is going to be posting up photos of how amazing their experience at HARD was and they will be writing how their photos are cooler than everyone elses… which is fine… but our photos kind of suck and are kind of funny and we have kind of good music… so keep reading to kill your day at work.

FIRST OFF!!! I can’t continue this blog post without thanking TIM PLUMLEY, DAN SENA, and WHITE LIGHT productions for taking care of us this year…. These guys literally went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of and we cannot thank them enough for doing that especially while such chaos was going on around them.
WE OWE YOU GUYS HUGE !!!

Mark , Dan Sena (Seh – na), and I rolled up to the Shrine auditorium around 915pm to make sure we would beat the rush to get in and to make sure we could get some good shots of MR. WHITE killing it. But unfortunately about 2000 other people felt that they would beat us there. And there was already lines on both sides of the complex. After we got everything straightened out and got in… We knew that night was going to be a good one……eh screw it… LONG STORY SHORT we had an amazing time… download the music …read the captions … go crazy…or dont either way it was fun!
