DUBTROIT W/ REID SPEED (photos)

The Last Dubtroit at Detroit bar was last Tuesday, and although it didn’t feature Dj Sets from TeaLong and 12thplanet, the crowd came out in full force. Tony Long booked DJs from across the U.S. in order to bring as much Dubstep diversity as possible to this one, and they all brought some serious heat.

Make sure you come out to the next one, Dubtroit is the oNLY dubstep night in the OC worth going to. Trust us, its one of the only events left in Orange County that hasn’t been invaded by Bros!

TEALONG AND TAKEAKI (song of the week)

It’s the haphazard hapa duo: Tea-Long and TY. We are starting a new weekly post here on the fakeRICH blog in a collaborative effort to keep those music and reading minds exercised and toned up, ready for some random, filthy action!
We are taking our unorganized time to help each of you readers expand your ears and brains with some dope tunes and information that’ll make you laugh, cry, smile, scream, and possibly even mess your undergarments with a slip of unadulterated, pure joy and ecstasy. The (in)consistent theme of each weekly post will be based on our music pick for that week coupled with some random, outlandish banter as an appetizer before the entree we serve y’all. Each track will vary from genre to genre, from new to old, and from pointless to memorable.

Tea-Long has been Dj’ing for about 11 years now, starting off in 1997 playing all drum & bass/ jungle and some underground hip hop turntablist shit. He currently spins at a horde of clubs and bars in OC and LA and plays a variety of music as much as his choices span at a vegas buffet: every-damn-thing. Be sure to check out his project called TNT with Tony Adams. The other half of this duo, TY, is a nomad and creator who spends his time scribbling short stories, prose, essays and articles, producing musical tunes, and manifesting/translating other tid-bits of the mind to a multitude of random mediums. Oh, and travels about a lot too. Since Tea-Long started off spinning jungle/D&B, we’ve decided that our first song choice should be a jungle track.
