“This Episode, I cover the UCLA JAZZ/REGGAE festival. The line up was amazing this year and I was able to see artists like Ayo, People Under the Stairs, De La Soul and my favorite, Eryka Badu. The vib at the concert was surreal…everyone was just feeling the music. Mykal from fakeRICH was there with me taking pictures and capturing some great highlights of the show.”

The interview is focused around my friend Tony Turbo, a film editor for numerous skate videos, and the Rob Dyrdek Carl’s junior campaign but he’s most well known for being the blurred face dude on the show. Rob Roy is one of those artists that isn’t afraid to work hard to achieve what he wants and he isn’t afraid to talk about it. More and more “artists” these days expect success of so little that its very refreshing to see someone put their heart and soul into working so hard to accomplish their dreams. From moving across the country to a town where he knew no-one, to working at Trader Joes just to pay the bills, to performing his heart out at each performance; Rob has been through a lot and he is someone that you just can’t help but like.
Cottrell had the opportunity to sit down with Rob to discuss what the ups and downs are like living the life of a “Rollercoaster baby.” It’s by far the best video out of the series. check it out:



As you can see Rob isn’t afraid to put it all on the line and work for what he wants, everytime we watch him perform we are amazed with the energy he puts into each performance.

Very few people are lucky enough to have artistic talent and a good business sense; Chris Stampd’ is one of them. He started out his company (Sampd’ LA) stenciling shoes and after 3 years, it’s become a must have for sneaker heads across the globe.

I met up with this sarcastic man at his showroom, where he shared some words on how he started his business, what it’s become and where it’s headed. Listen up, you might learn something.

It was a pleasure interviewing one of my good friends for this episode, as you can see it was a little hard to focus without feeling the need to slap him in the face. I don’t know why, but sometimes Chris just needs to be slapped.

Most may think that Ethan is a stand off kind of dude, but he’s just a guy who is simply all about work. You sort of have to respect that. Whether he’s traveling to Ireland to do a video or he’s filming one on a used car lot. Ethan puts 110% of his time and energy into everything he does.
