I have attempted to write this blog post 3 times already tonight and each time (as i switch back and forth from my photobucket album to this page.) I end up closing the fucking window!!! UGH!!!
ANYWAYS…. here goes nothing….

FROOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM THE TOP

As I was digging through our volumes of photos of all the Dj’s we have covered in the past months… I discovered that I mistakenly did not do a post about the BEST NIGHT WE HAVE EVER HAD IN LA ON A THURSDAY!!! with the one and only COCAINE KIDS….
Our night started off at the Redwood bar their favorite LA watering hole….
In case you guys didnt know the REdwood Bar is the home of the one and only “BOOTY” where the Cocaine Kids have been bringing some serious heat for a year…If any of you have been to any of these friday night parties… you know how great they really are.
We met up with N.N. (1/2 of the C.K. duo) first and he called his partner in crime JAMES to come meet us.


Once his partner in crime showed up, we got a really great interview in with them (look for it once the site launches)

After our interview was up… we headed over to LA CITA (the only place to be in LA on a Thursday night).

Once we got there… the place was pretty much empty b/c we showed up rather early,

but we said our hello’s to all our homies there and made sure to say hello to the COUGAR of bartender who was working near the door (more on that later)


After we said our hello’s we headed outside to “El Patio” to see what was going on out there

Once we were outside… we followed the KIDS around while they said hello to all their homies.


After they said their hellos we headed back inside to be treated by the delicious sounds of FUNK from the one and only DJ PUBES!!!!!!

In case you were wondering..this guy spins one of the best collection of hits I have ever heard….and not JUST electro hits… he plays everything from James Brown…to Mj to Justice…all in the same set… GOOOOOD SHIT!!!

While Pubes was going off… the dance floor started to get steadily packed… and everyone was really digging the vibe.

This was a great time for us and the KIDS to revisit the bar and see what range of libations they had to offer…
JAMES (1/2 of the C.K. duo) decided to order one of the weirdest / most delicious drinks I have ever tasted in my life…I believe it was called a Menchillada…not sure if i spelled that correctly but it was delicious nonetheless.

After they made everyone around them sample this delicious mexican tomato juice and beer milkshake…

It was time for them to set up and get the party started RIIIIIGHT…


FIRST UP WAS JAMES…

He opened up with one of the freshest sets we had ever heard… this guy was seriously bringing HEEEEEEEEEEEAAAT and the crowd really loved it

Then N.N. (other half of the duo) got up there and RAN THE TRAIN on La Cita…..It was about this time when people started coming out of the woodwork and appearing out of nowhere…





Their set kept getting HARDER, BETTER, FASTER, AND STRONGER… and we loved it!!


It was around this time where we started seeing some familiar faces..

After the Cocaine Kids killed it on the tables for an hour… a very special guest DJ showed up …he happens to go by the name of ….
MisterMisterMisterMisterMister CHOC!!!!


In case you dont listen to POWER 106 or the radio for that matter… MISTER Choc has been Djing on that station ever since I can remember… And I remember when I was a kid I used to put a blank tape in my tape deck everynight he spun just to record his set… yeah it was THAT good.
After Mister AMAZING Choc decided to grace the crowd with his presence we had to take off… but on our way out we saw some lovely faces…

And a great pic to end the night on….After that we decided to drive our tired asses back to OC to catch some sleep for our regular 9-5 jobs… but make sure you peep the site once it launches for the full NITTY GRITTY on the Cocaine Kids feature…
