Yeah I know this post is a good 6 HOURS late but I can’t begin to explain to you how hectic my day was today.. anyways for today’s music monday we are featuring one of the coolest french cats around… DJ MEHDI!!!

Whenever you mention the phrase ED BANGER crew.. its only natural to think of BUSY P and the JUSTICE duo but one of my favs in the bunch has to be DJ MEHDI!!!

MEHDI is one of those DJ’s who actually DJed back in the day. Before there was a mention of serato or beatmatching mixers, Mehdi actually polished his skills like any good DJ should, by using his EARS!

He originally broke into the French hip hop / rap scene back in 1997 and never looked back he has moved on from the hip hop / rap scene into being being sought after for film scoring, artist remixing, producing, and finally an electro DJ staple.

“Coming from a rap music background, it’s always nice to collaborate within other music genres…Paris is very inspiring because a lot of people are making great stuff, music and in other arts related fields also. My music and philosophies revolve around beats and blues, that’s how I would try to describe it.”

As you can tell, whenever MEHDI puts out a track it isn’t just the traditional electronic buzz saw riverside smashers, he manages to put things into electronic music that isn’t normally there. His songs have SOUL, RYTHM, LAYERS, WARMTH, and best of all they are are all very well put together. On top of all that he manages to combine french disco, hip hop, dance music, pop, and party bangers all into one set.

I dont know what it is about this guy but everytime he spins he always kills it and the crowd eats it up. Maybe its his little french dances he does while djing or maybe its because he has been in the game before it started, either way Mehdi is someone who we have always looked up to and we will always look up to.
