I was forwarded an email from DJ Them Jeans last night about a band that he thought we might want to feature on the site. A band that combines an amazing vibe with disco beats and a super fox singer a band by the name of POLLYN.

Pollyn is Genevieve Artadi, Anthony Cava, and Adam Jay Weissman, a music machine from Los Angeles who began collaborating in 1999.

Mix the voice of Sade, the sounds and beats of Peter Bjorn and John, plus throw in some M.F. Doom in the mix and you have the very unique yet comfortably familiar sounds of POLLYN. Pollyn is one of those bands that will surely make a huge splash on the scene so make sure you come out to see them as soon as you can!

“Gave It Up” is the first single off Pollyn’s debut album, This Little Night. For the release, they enlisted master of Balearic Disco Peter Visti, who remixed this new wave party starter into a full blown cosmic odyssey. Featured on Urb’s Next 100 in 2007, Pollyn has remixed high profile acts, including Gorillaz, Buffalo Daughter, and Liquid Liquid.

Their album, This Little Night, is a testament to the band’s rapid evolution.
