“Ill put a little hurtin’ on yah and Ill do it in some heels” …Despite having a huge crush on Kid Sister for the past 3 years, I actually am an even bigger fan of her music.

Melissa Young (Kid Sister) combines a uniqe mixture of adorable feminism with Chicago swagger in all of her music. I remember the first time I heard “Damn Girl” I was blown away with her witty lyrics and unique beats.

Kid Sister’s her new album Ultraviolet LP is due to be released on October 6th featuring productions of Rusko, Count & Sinden, XXXchange and Brian Kennedy. Here’s what she said about the new single on an interview for Pitchfork:

“Yeah, it’s called “Right Hand Hi” and it’s produced by Steve Angello and Sebastian from Swedish House Mafia– which I think is the best name for a group next to Dethklok. The song is about when you’re at the club– especially on the South Side of Chicago, where I grew up– and you hear a song and you’re like, “Aw, this is my shit!” So you run to the dancefloor and put your right hand up and start working it.”

The album is designed to show off her lyrical skills. In case, you guys didnt know Kid Sister can ACTUALLY rap..in fact, before she broke into the lime light she was MC ing partys and rapping since 2005.
