Remember when you used to sit by the radio waiting for your favorite artist to come on just so you could record their newest song on your brand new memorex cassette? I did exactly that EVERY time Black Sheep came on and so why not take you guys back a decade or so for Music Monday?

Black Sheep composed of Andres “Dres” Titus and William “Mista Lawnge” McLean. Shook the Hip Hop community with their debut album “A WOLF IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING” back in 1991 and it helped catapult Hip Hop into the maintstream.

In fact, they were the very first Hip Hop group to ever perform on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Pretty crazy huh?

Even though the A WOLF IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING was released over 15 years ago, the album still rules today! It’s not a coincidence that it had 3 billboard top 10 hits. Two of their songs , STROBELIGHT HONEY / THE CHOICE IS YOURS are a couple of the most recognizable songs in the history of Hip Hop. Really good music is good no matter where its played; whether you are on the basketball court, in your car, at a club, or at home those songs will get the party started.

BLACK SHEEP helped pave the way for so many artists that have become household names, it’s ridiculous.I almost feel like I need to dedicate a whole week to them.
