No matter how good I think I am in terms of “discovering” new bands or artists, there are always some that seem to fly under my radar. GHOSTLAND OBSERVATORY is one of them.

Today I was working in the office and I got lazy in terms of my music selecting so I put on the ever so faithful Pandora to keep me entertained. As I was chatting with Arlo about getting some events lined up for the future my computer unexpectedly commanded my attention. The song, Sad Sad City by Ghostland Observatory. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! The song was poppy, up-beat, and totally bad ass at the same time. It’s the kind of song that makes me wish I had a film crew following me around all day. (PrettyBoyPaul) This way I could make even the dumbest / mundane things somehow seem cool and edgey. I could put this song to a video clip of me making a grilled cheese sandwich in a bathrobe and it would make me an immediate sex symbol, don’t deny it.
After my initial infatuation with the song had worn off, I immediately wondered what musical rock I was hiding under for the past two years that made me miss this song? I remember almost a year ago hearing about their show at Detroit Bar in costa mesa but even then I had no idea who these guys were. As I reach the end of this little article explaining how much of a musical hermit I have been, I have officially listened to SAD SAD CITY 8 times and I am not sick of it at all! In fact I just popped it into reason to make some mash ups with it… here’s a hint… KID CUDI’s PARANOID matches it perfectly so far…

Anyways, I hope there are still some people out there who haven’t heard this song so I don’t seem like such a douche but if all of you have heard it that’s even better. As of this moment, GHOSTLAND OBSERVATORY has officially been added to my grilled cheese bath robe playlist!
